It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of Hannah Keiver, who died on May 27, 2025, in a skiing accident near Banff, Alberta.
Hannah, a passionate adventurer and deeply cherished member of her community, was involved in a fatal fall while skiing the challenging 3/4 Couloir route, a steep alpine line known for its technical difficulty and breathtaking views.
According to reports, Hannah fell approximately 600 meters down the couloir, succumbing to her injuries at the scene. Though her life was cut short, Hannah lived more fully than most—she embraced each day with courage, joy, and an infectious zest for life.
An experienced skier and lover of the outdoors, Hannah was never one to shy away from the wild. The mountains were her sanctuary, the slopes her canvas, and nature her constant companion.
Her adventurous spirit touched all who knew her and inspired many to pursue their own passions with a similar sense of purpose and vitality. Friends and loved ones remember Hannah not only for her boundless energy but for her kindness, humor, and authenticity.
She was the kind of person who made people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it was encouraging someone to take their first steps into the backcountry or offering a listening ear at the end of a long day, Hannah was always there—steady, supportive, and full of love.
Hannah was more than just a thrill-seeker; she was a thoughtful, caring individual who forged deep connections wherever she went. Her empathy was matched only by her enthusiasm.
Whether she was organizing group hikes, planning ski tours, or just sitting around a campfire with friends, Hannah brought people together in ways that created lasting memories and lifelong bonds.
Her untimely death has left a void that can never be filled. Yet, even in this immense grief, there is also gratitude—for the light Hannah brought into our lives, for the adventures she shared, and for the love she gave so freely.
Her legacy lives on in the countless people she inspired to explore the world with open hearts and fearless spirits. At this time, there are no plans for a formal celebration of life.
However, Hannah’s family and friends encourage everyone who knew her to honor her memory by doing what she loved most: spending time in nature, challenging themselves, helping others, and living life fully.
Whether it’s hiking your favorite trail, skiing down a beloved slope, or simply sitting in quiet reflection under a wide-open sky, celebrate Hannah in your own way. Let her memory serve as a reminder to embrace the moment and cherish those around you.
The Keiver family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Banff Search and Rescue team and local authorities for their response and support during this incredibly difficult time. Their compassion and professionalism brought comfort in the midst of heartbreak.
Hannah Keiver was a beacon of strength, courage, and kindness. While her physical journey has come to an end, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched, the mountains she loved, and the adventures she inspired. She is dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
